Prospectin' - Week 4
I’m combining my sneaky starts for Week 4 with some waiver prospects. These guys aren’t necessarily worth dropping any solid starting or back up player on a bye this week, but they will fill in nicely during the pinch.
QB Matt Hasselbeck - Seattle Seahawks @ St. Louis Rams
The road isn’t a place I typically like to suggest playing Matt, but this week against the Rams he should...
WEEK FOUR SURVIVAL PICKS
We got back on track in Baltimore last week, not to mention all four of our other choices also pulled through, so as long as you went with one of our five, you should still be in the hunt.
There are two less games on the schedule this week, so the pickings are thin, despite, we have five nice locks to choose from, starting with the Champs at home.
New Orleans Saints over Carolina Panthers

PEAKS & VALLEYS: WEEK 3
When you’re up on a peak you can see both back to where you’ve been, and forward into the valley where you are going. In full view this landscape can be tactical and daunting, but at this height maintaining vigilance on the unknown ahead is a supreme advantage.
In fantasy football, highs and lows are different for every player on every team. A horrendous team can still have...
CHIPPIES FOR WEEK FOUR
With BYE madness officially upon us, I’m plugging holes as best I can to save two sinking ships.
I have two 0-3 teams on separate formats and this week is a must win for both.
As such, I am going bold in a few places, including benching Joe Flacco in both defeated leagues.
Here are the Chips for Week 4:
QB
Tom Brady
Matt Hasselbeck
Michael Vick
WR
Greg Jennings
Randy Moss
Wes...

Hook Solo and the Shiancoe’s from Kiss-My-Anthia
Devoting as much free time as I do to fantasy football, sports really, I though it prudent to show that there are far worse things to devote your free time to, as seen above.
Putting on my Sam Madison home jersey and that guy wearing a Jolly Green Giant Halloween costume on Sundays are two totally different things.
Thus, in honor of our...
SIZING up Week 3
A brief snapshot of fantasy and reality implications for Week 3 NFL games.
SF 24 KC 19
Certainly Start: Frank Gore, Vernon Davis, Michael Crabtree
Consider: SF Defense, Jamaal Charles, Thomas Jones, Tony Moecki, Ryan Succop, KC Defense
Hold back: Alex Smith, Matt Cassel, Dwayne Bowe, Chris Chambers
Sleepers: Josh Morgan, Dexter McCluster
Two weeks running now San...
Week 3 Pick 'Em's
WEEK THREE SURVIVAL PICKS
I failed you, and I have no excuse. I believed in a team that I never have had belief in because I felt it would be shocking for the actual outcome to happen, and it did, and I was shocked.
However, I did provide four other really solid options, three of which came true.
I know you were all smarter than me last week and took Green Bay, so let’s pretend like I did too!
Below are my top...
Prospectin' - Week 3
Get your pick axe out and flag these gents on your watch list of prospects.
RB Willis McGahee (drop Josh Cribbs)
Last year against the Browns McGahee and Rice combined for three of the Ravens four touchdowns. He could vulture a couple from Ray again this weekend. Use in single serving then drop.
RB Fred Taylor (drop Julian Edelman)
With the injury to Kevin Faulk, the New England backfield...
CHIPPIES FOR WEEK THREE
Here is a list of all the starters on 5 of my 7 fantasy teams heading into Week 3.
I do not include my NFL.com rosters due my lack of control over who was drafted on those teams, however, I am currently undefeated in those leagues. Hmm, I wonder…
QB
Joe Flacco (3rd times a charm)
Tom Brady
WR
Brandon Marshall
Jeremy Maclin
Jacoby Jones
Michael Crabtree
Malcom Floyd

Peaks & Valleys
Forgive me my tardiness. Despite the Dolphins mighty victory over Minnesota, a few of my decisions from Week 2 would not stop haunting me and stunted my mojo for a spell.
Regardless, a champion must press forward.
Over the years I have come to accept that there will always be highs and lows. Perseverance depends on recognizing when you are at the top of a peak, or in the depths of a valley....
Go Get 'Em! Week 2 Pick-Up's
Don’t waste much time, skim the list and get what you need from Sunday’s mayhem. I’ll throw more out on Monday.
RB - JASON SNELLING - Atlanta Falcons
If Michael Turner’s injury turn’s out to be as bad as it seemed, Snelling will become Week 2’s Brandon Jackson. Three TD’s in an annihilation of the Cardinals is a good way to get yourself a job even if...
Pondering Week 2
Some things I am mulling over tonight…
I may have been hasty in my confidence in the Miami Defense. I can’t deny my inner fin coming out, but nevertheless they looked stout against three dynamic running backs last week on the road, so I don’t feel I’m too bold in thinking that they will handle Peterson decent enough and put plenty of pressure on Favre.
Last...
Woodhead gives Good-Intel →
Just another reason to back the Pats. You have to love mind/spy games.
Sizing up Week 2
I’m takin’: Atlanta
Certainly Start: Matt Ryan, Michael Turner, Roddy White, Tony Gonzalez, Atlanta Defense, Tim Hightower
Maybe Start: Steve Breaston
Maybe Bench: Larry Fitzgerald, Beanie Wells (injury)
Certainly Bench: Derek Anderson, Early Doucet (injury), Arizona Defense
I wouldn’t Start: Larry Fitzgerald, Beanie Wells, Derek Anderson
I’d venture to say that...
TRADED
In my 12-team keeper league in which I kept Ray Rice & Adrian Peterson, today I traded Adrian Peterson for Miles Austin straight up.
Austin will join Greg Jennings as my #2 WR.
My RB’s are now Rice, Ladainian Tomlinson, and Fred Taylor.
I may be thin at RB now, but having both AP & Rice didn’t compensate for not having a solid #2 WR in Week 1 (even though I have Garcon,...
Wait — you say she supposedly “asked for it” because she was...
– Johnette Howard on the New Line Jets.
WEEK 2 PICK-EM'S
I didn’t showcase my picks last week as I was a bit overwhelmed with the start of the season and frankly forgot to post them.
I’m not going to put a lot of weight behind my picks just yet, as you will get more when I divulge into who to start and who to bench tomorrow.
For now, mull these over.
WEEK 1: 10-6
Missed Picks: CIN>NE; CLE>TB; SF>SEA; SD>KC; ATL>PIT;...
WEEK TWO SURVIVAL PICKS
You should have survived if you picked any of my top five suggestions for Week 1 in your Survival Pool. I am glad I changed my pick from the Bears to the Titans at the last minute because that game would’ve given me a heart attack otherwise.
Below are my top contender’s to keep you alive into Week 3, and remember, when you use them you lose them. BOLD IS MY PICK FOR THE WEEK.

Prospectin' - Week 2
Let’s dig for some nuggets, shall we?
RB - Fred Taylor
Now that Laurence Maroney has been shipped off to Denver, it’s Fred’s job to lose. Belichick has only ever used one real back during his reign in New England, and it was ageless wonder Corey Dillon. Taylor has the potential to be what Dillon was when he joined in his twilight, just don’t expect it to come against the...
Success & Failure - Week 1
You win some, you lose some. I made it out of Week 1 above .500 thanks to some solid drafting, but it wasn’t all sunshine and unicorns for the Major.
Accountability is important in fantasy football, so I’m going to be straight cut & dry with posting my moves, both right and wrong.
Here’s what I hit and missed on.

Buffalo Boo-Boo
Yes, it is possible for the Buffalo Bills to get worse.
Their amazing starting linebacker Paul Posluszny will be out at least 3 weeks after injuring his right knee in their loss to Miami yesterday.
Fortunately, they weren’t going to do much next week in Green Bay anyway, so proceed with all your Packers as usual.
The downside is I actually do like Posluszny. He’s a Zach Thomas...
Exhilarating, no?
What a first Sunday. Here are my major highlights:
Corn-on-the-Kolb, who looked confused and disrupted, got knocked out early and was replaced by Vick, bleh (I was never high on either Eagles QB, but the loss of Leonard Weaver to block for McCoy will either boost or sink his fantasy value.)
The hype-machine officially broke on C.J. Spiller (Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson both looked better...
What a weekend.
districtathletic:
Wow.
That was a pretty incredible football weekend for those of us in the District, Maryland, and Virgina, wasn’t it?
We are the Dukes of JMU!
Of course you’ve heard already, but my alma mater, James Madison University, found a way to pull one of the biggest upsets in college football history, and defeated the Hokies of Virginia Tech by a score of 21-16 on a rainy Saturday in...
MAJOR PICK UPS
Whether you’ve been hit with injuries already or just poor performances, there are players waiting to help on the waiver wire. Please leave roster or trade questions in the comments and we will happily assist!
RB - PEYTON HILLIS - Cleveland Browns
Go get him now! Stop reading and do it, I will wait.
Did you get him? I hope so, because when he was in Denver, he took advantage of a...

TE - OWEN DANIELS
He’s been healing faster than expected and is expected to start and play anywhere from 15 to an optimistic 35 snaps. It’s either him or Gronkowski, and I like Daniels chances...

OF COURSE HE DID
Wouldn’t you know it, mf’er is an Orange.
If there isn’t a school or place I hate more in the continential U.S. - it’s Syracuse.
You went there? Sorry for you! Are you as unoriginal, talentless, opportunistic and fiendish as most of the douche-lords that exit that institution? I hope not, for your loved ones’ sake.

NO>MIN RECAP
I was so close. The final score separated them by 5, and I had them by 6. Not shabby.
On to the fantasy!
VALIDATION
I told you not to start Favre.
I also told you not to start Reggie Bush.
Both had mediocre stats so I hope you listened.
If you played Visanthe Shiancoe, bravo! I did.
Same goes for Pierre Thomas, even though he should have done a lot more.

j-boner asked: Major we have a problem, I am about to pick up hightower but idk who to drop, i have cutler, kenny britt heap, bradshaw, and malcom floyd, also I think im going to start floyd over pierre garcone but I'm not sure. would that be a smart move because Rivers will have him Nannne and Gates, but Peyton has so many options. and if i pick up hightower, i have to choose from MJD, ronnie brown,...

Beanie Busted
Cardinals RB Beanie Wells missed practice today and is questionable to play against the Rams on Sunday.
I didn’t draft him at all and didn’t advise anyone else on doing so either, however, if you did I hope you did listen to me on Tim Hightower because if you were doubting me before, I bet you aren’t now.
He’s in my starting line-up and should be in yours too if you plan...

"The game ain't played through tongues." →
I’m not a huge fan of the Baltimore Ravens, but I am definitely a hater of the New York Jets so this verbal retort from Ray Lewis regarding the comments from Rex Ryan on the last episode of Hard Knocks really gets me fired up.
I hope the Dirty Birds go up to that brand new stadium of theirs, complete with it’s own tropical Island and crash land those arrogant unproven pieces of...

A Major Reflection
As the final episode thank the maker of HARD KNOCKS concluded last night at 11:59 PM PST, I sat back on my bed and chuckled to myself at the importance a team can place around one player.
The NFL has done a great job at making this an individuals game. Sure, it’s a team sport, but the popularity and increased coverage of the NFL is owed solely to individual players like the Darrelle...

So here we are.
In just a few hours, a geyser of testosterone will burst from every man across America.
For some in purple & those in gold, it’s extra special thanks to the geniuses in the scheduling dungeon who gave us this 2010 NFC Championship re-match to salivate over all day.
Last year I thought for sure Tennessee would down the defending champion Steeler’s in Pittsburgh;...

SUPER BOWL FORECAST
ESPN.com just put out their annual Super Bowl predictions from all the guppies that give them their goods.
Check it.
As for me, every year I say Dolphins to the Super Bowl as a Wild Card until they go sub .500 and then I burn my printed schedule as an effigy- if you don’t think your team has the chance to go all the way at the start of each season, you should quit watching football...

Shallow on WR?
The Ravens sent WR Mark Clayton to the St. Louis Rams, who are missing Donnie Avery for the year.
Clayton should fill in nice and could be a monster sleeper this season. Apparently he and QB Sam Bradford are Oklahoma buddies and that usually equates to extra love on Sundays.
